Presentation and Representation

I just wanted to share something with you that has been on my heart recently. The reason that I share this with you is to simply share a little something that’s been on my heart. I’ve been convicted and challenged in the ways that I present myself and how I represent the things that I stand for. For the longest time I’ve been stuck on “presentation and representation.” How do I present myself visually and socially? Who am I representing? Along with those questions, am I “presenting and representing” the way that God’s called me to?

Presentation
I googled (like I do with everything) the word "presentation." The manner or style in which something is given, offered or displayed.
We all present ourselves, everyday, to the people that are around us. Visually, we "display, give and offer" ourselves by the way that we look; the clothes that we wear, how we wear our hair, what kinds of shoes we wear, etc. Socially, we "display, give and offer" ourselves by the people that we hangout with and how they influence us, the words that we say and the choices that we make.

Representation
The action of speaking or acting on behalf of someone or the state of being so represented. (GOOGLE)
We all represent something different on different levels. Part of my representation is the daughter of 4, Watauga County Schools, and so on....while another woman may represent a different family lifestyle, the places that they work and the organizations that they're involved in.

We ALL represent something much greater then the things in this world that we think "define" us. First and foremost, we are represented as Daughters of and in Christ. We are all unique in our own ways.
I represent a great church that is challenging me, shaping me and developing me into a woman and leader that I'm called to be.

With all that said, I pray that you don't take this as just a "looks" kind of post. How we present ourselves and who we represent from a spiritually level is much deeper then just looks. Again, I just wanted to share with you what's been on my heart and how I've been challenged. Each day, multiple times a day, I've asked myself, how am I presenting myself right now and who am I representing throughout the day? I challenge you to do the same. Make a cognitive effort to think about your presentation and how you're representing yourself.

I love you all. If anything, I hope that you were able to learn a little more about me through the words I've said.
